Across all platforms
What are the constraints of your current research?
Time mostly, and the feel I miss out on the latest sites/blogs on photography/ stylism.
Do you have enough time to research?
Sometimes yes sometimes not, would indeed be nice to outsource the art buying. Also just to get a fresh perspective on things
What could make your working day easier in terms of finding new talent ?
Sometimes I forget to look what the competitor is doing, a nice overview of that would be nice.
What would be your concerns about new talent?
How equipped are they, do they get the volume, can they handle the work stress and work quick enough.

Nice to build a relationship from scratch, good to have a new fresh view on things. Hopefully cheaper day fee’s 😉

What kind of talent is of interest to you ?
Young talent that has established a signature style, but can think outside of that if needed
What are the typical resources that you use to find the talent that you need?
Agencies (production/film/representation), Vimeo, Youtube, colleagues that have past experience in working with certain talent
What mediums do you need the talent for?
Video, photography and animation
What are the constraints of your current research?
Finding the right talent for the right region (e.g. We were looking for a Middle East/Arabic video director to shoot a Saudi Arabian video with).
Do you have enough time to research?
Never enough time to do research – always on the run.
What could make your working day easier in terms of finding new talent ?
Getting people do the research of off a brief we write for this search request.
What would be your concerns about new talent?
Un-established and un-experienced way of working/thinking/treating a project. Directors treatment are key for us to choose from.
What would be the advantage of new talent?
Lower directors rates, unconventional way of thinking, new ideas.
Any other comments
Would be great to see the agency/new way of getting resources in come to life. We are really keen on getting showreels in from directors all over the place (especially EMEA).

CHARLOTTE MARCODINI,
fashion and still life photographer, Paris

For how long have you been a photographer?
I started my career as a fashion photographer last year after being a photo assistant and a digital operator in the fashion industry.
How did you start making images?
I started to photograph my friends when I was young.
What format(s) do you work in/what kind of cameras do you use?
I’m using digital cameras for my photographs, I like to work with DSLR cameras but my favorite ones are the Phase One cameras and digital backs.
How and where do you showcase your work?
I’m using a few different supports to showcase my work, the main one is internet through Instagram, my website, photo platforms, online magazines… I also like to keep an updated printed portfolio in a large format that is accompanying me during meetings and I created Wet Road Press editions to publish my personal projects.
Do you use social medias to expose your work?
Yes and more particularly Instagram.

My recent clients are including brands such as Opening Ceremony in New York, Lacoste and Stouls in Paris and my last fashion editorials were published in french Marie Claire and Grazia.
How do you get in touch with clients?
Most of the time it starts with the common desire of a new collaboration with an art director, a stylist or a set designer and I’m also constantly looking for new people, clients and brands to meet and to collaborate with.
Who’s your dream client?

What’s your dream project?
I would love to have the opportunity to realize look books for Edun, there are such a creative and inspiring brand to me !
If there were an online platform/app, like Thursday’s Child, connecting young talents with art buyers, art directors and editors working big brands/agencies where you could upload your own portfolio – would you consider using this?
Yes, I would definitely consider to use such a platform.

ALICIA PAWELCZAK,
studies Applied Photography, Vienna

For how long have you been a photographer?
I don’t call myself a photographer but I have been curious about imagery all my life. As soon as I had a smartphone in my hands I started to document everything in my own way. I decided to apply for art school and got into photography three years ago.
How did you start making images?
I always took images with my phone. Later I wanted to try the proper way and bought an analogue camera, but the film and the developing was expensive and I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t see the outcome right away. Since then I only use digital cameras – it suits the topics and interest i have in images bette. And I still use my phone.
What format(s) do you work in/what kind of cameras do you use?
With cameras I just take what I can get – I don’t have my own, so i borrow from friends or the university. But i feel comfortable with Nikon. I mainly photograph with a Nikon D800.
How and where do you showcase your work?
There are many ways: I show my work on digital platforms simple as Instagram and Facebook. I also care very much about exhibiting since I personally enjoy seeing stuff in galleries. I had group exhibitions at Take festival in Vienna. Another way to show my work is to give it to magazines like Indie, Intern etc.
Do you use social medias to expose your work?
Yes. I´m very much pro social media. I feel very drawn to the signs in images or language of digital platforms.
What kind of clients do you work for?
Fashion labels, magazines, artist/music related websites.
How do you get in touch with clients?
They write me or I’ll write them. If I like something I’m not shy to ask.
Who’s your dream client?
For “fine art photography” I would love to art direct and shoot something for ACNE/Eckhaus Latta/Céline
What’s your dream project?
I want to be exhibited at the MOMA. But for now I really find interest in many things.
If there were an online platform/app, like Thursday’s Child, connecting young talents with art buyers, art directors and editors working big brands/agencies where you could upload your own portfolio – would you consider using this?
For someone like me, this would be a perfect tool. I love the idea!

Clients that have already expressed a strong interest in this project include Nike European operations, Nike Global Operations, H+M and Uber. The opportunities are endless. This kind of platform and opportunity has never been seen before.
